Do we like xQc?

Our score: 5 out of 10. Nothing found of him pushing harm at any group, and real charity work, but a slur at a gay player, gambling streams and unresolved abuse claims keep it middling.

Félix Lengyel was born in Laval, Quebec, in 1995. He started with extreme-sports clips on YouTube, moved to Twitch, and became a competitive Overwatch player who won DreamHack Montreal in 2016. His Dallas Fuel stint ended in suspensions and a release, so he went full-time streaming and ended up Twitch's most-watched streamer from 2020 to 2022.

The Overwatch days are where his worst moment sits. In January 2018, after openly gay player Austin Muma Wilmot used a catchphrase in an interview, xQc went off on stream with a slur-laden insult. He was benched, suspended for four more matches and fined $2,000. He tweeted an apology and said it wasn't meant with malice, and Muma reportedly accepted it.

On the harm check, I couldn't open anything showing him campaigning against trans people, women, migrants or the planet, and nothing since 2018 that repeats that outburst. The big flag is business: he moved to Kick on a reported $100 million deal, became known for casino streams on Stake and put out a slot game hosted there. Gambling promo to a young audience is a real mark, but that's the gap in what I could verify, not a clean bill.

The ugliest legal thread is with his ex-girlfriend, streamer Adept. A Texas lawsuit she filed was dismissed by a judge. In October 2024 she filed in California, alleging domestic violence, a sexual battery claim carried over from Texas, and that he used his following against her. He said he'd already won in court and called it sad. Records obtained in 2023 reportedly showed a closed matter with no conviction, though many parts were redacted.

The June 2026 ban was more silly than sinister. A short clip of a Mbappé goal during France v Iraq reportedly led FIFA to issue a DMCA strike, Twitch pulled his stream, and he said that sucked because he'd waited as long as he could. It was undone within hours, and says nothing about his character either way.

So where does that leave us? Not a Sorbo-style slide into grievance, and nothing hateful in recent years that I could open. But a slur at a gay player, a gambling-promo career and an unresolved abuse lawsuit he denies mean you can't wave him through. Go in with eyes open.
