Do we like Wayne Pygram?
Our score: 6 out of 10. Nothing harmful or dodgy turned up, but there's too little reporting to score him higher.
Wayne Pygram, who is also credited as Wayne Pigram, is an Australian actor and drummer. He was born in Cootamundra and finished school in Wagga Wagga, then studied primary school teaching before the stage grabbed him. That's according to a 2011 Daily Advertiser profile.
His drumming led to work with the Riverina Theatre Company, then the Sydney Theatre Company, Nimrod and Playbox in Melbourne. The same profile says he toured with Lauren Bacall in Sweet Bird of Youth, which is a proper stage pedigree. By 2011 his most recent TV role was a Police Commissioner in Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
On scandals, there's honestly nothing to tell. We searched for lawsuits, court outcomes and accusations against him and found no reporting from an established outlet. We did not find any, and we couldn't open much beyond that one profile.
On the harm test, we found no statements from him about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, vaccines or the climate, in either direction. We also found no pattern of working with people who push harm. That's an absence of evidence, not a glowing reference, so read it as a pass on what we could see.
The good stuff we could verify is local. The Wagga Australia Day Community Committee picked him as the town's Australia Day ambassador, and he was living in Wagga and teaching drums at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music at the time.
Nothing new on him lately in the sources we could reach. So he's a lean yes: no red flags, a long working-actor career, and a fair bit we couldn't check.
