Do we like Till Lindemann?
Our score: 5 out of 10. Accusations from 2023 were never tested in court and no harmful words of his own turned up, but the record we could read is thin.
Till Lindemann is best known as the frontman of Rammstein, the German industrial metal band. He also runs a solo project under his own name, and it still fills big spaces: Pollstar counted about 25,000 people at his own Till Fest in Germany in July 2026.
The cloud over him started in June 2023, when several women publicly accused him of sexual misconduct around Rammstein shows. His lawyers said the claims were “without exception untrue”. Berlin prosecutors opened a probe soon after, so this was no small rumour.
How it ended matters, and it cuts both ways. Prosecutors dropped the investigation in August 2023 for lack of evidence, which is not the same as the claims being tested and disproved. Meanwhile a Hamburg court gave him an interim injunction against Der Spiegel over some of its reporting, and in 2024 his lawyers filed a complaint against Spiegel executives over affidavits, which Spiegel has contested.
On the harm test, we found nothing from Lindemann himself against LGBTQ+ people, women's rights, migrants or climate action, and we haven't judged him on the shock imagery of his stage shows. The one clear good deed in the file is from March 2022, when he was reportedly seen helping a Ukrainian refugee in Berlin by paying for a hotel room. That's honestly a short list, and the research behind this card is thin.
Where that leaves us: the harm test is a pass, but only on what we could find. The good-person test is mixed, because a dropped investigation and a denial are not the same as a clean slate. A close call is the honest answer.
