Do we like Seth Green?

Our score: 7 out of 10. Nothing harmful found and a couple of decent acts, but too little public record on his views to push the score higher.

Seth Green is one of those faces you've known for decades. He played two roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and he later voiced Howard the Duck in the Marvel universe. He told Looper that landing that gig was down to “just the right place at the right time”.

His most memorable bit of recent drama was a very online one. In 2022, reports said a phishing attack took several of his NFTs, including a Bored Ape meant to star in an animated series called White Horse Tavern. According to BuzzFeed News as reported by The Block, he paid 165 ETH, about $297,000 at the time, to get it back. More expensive lesson than scandal.

He's also told a story about being on the receiving end. On Good Mythical Morning in 2022, Green said that at nine, on the Saturday Night Live set, Bill Murray picked him up by the ankles and dangled him over a bin. Coverage said Murray's representatives hadn't responded when the outlets asked. It's Green's account, and it shows him as the one telling a story against a famous name, not the one accused.

The harm check came back clean, and we'll be straight about it: our searches found no harmful words or acts from Green about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, vaccines or the climate. We found no sign he's working with people who push that stuff either. We also didn't find him making many political statements at all, so this is an absence of red flags, not a long record of activism.

On the good side, he spoke up for a former co-star when it cost him nothing but a bit of awkwardness. Green said Sarah Michelle Gellar gets labelled difficult for being assertive, which he called unfair. He was also announced as a featured guest at Podathon 2022, a 14-hour livestream raising money for Make-A-Wish. Modest, but real.

The one legal thing we found is small. In December 2023 The Blast reported that a plaintiff's civil lawsuit alleged Green and a co-defendant were negligent in connection with an April 2023 car crash in Los Angeles. No ruling or settlement turned up, and nothing new has surfaced on him lately.
