Do we like Sarah Geronimo?
Our score: 7 out of 10. Clean on harm and decent in how she treats people, but the record on where she stands on LGBTQ+ issues is thin.
Sarah Geronimo has been in showbiz for about 22 years, and she started as a teenager whose voice stopped audiences in their tracks. She's now a singer, dancer, actress, rom-com lead and endorser, with a devoted fanbase called the Popsters and the title Popstar Royalty. Along the way she picked up an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Southeast Asia Act in 2014.
On the harm check, we found nothing: no nasty posts, no conspiracy rabbit holes, no campaigning against anyone's rights. On politics, her agency said in 2022 that she and her husband weren't endorsing any candidate. In April 2026 her production unit denied that the viral vote-for-me clip meant a run for office. The gap is that we found no public statement from her on LGBTQ+ rights either way, so this is a clean record rather than a loud ally.
Lately she's been backing other artists. In mid 2025 she launched her own label and released Umaaligid with SB19. It debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, and reports describe it as a pop track with a message about disinformation. In May 2026 she congratulated BINI on their Billboard honour and told them to “Keep shining, and never be afraid to break boundaries.”
On the good stuff, her company G Studios PH teamed up with the NGO Angat Buhay on a donation drive after Typhoon Kristine in 2024. She's also been picky about endorsements, saying she wants brands that match her values. It's not a long charity list, but it's the pattern of someone who shows up when it counts.
So the verdict: she passes both tests, harm and nice. Nothing here would make an LGBTQ+ household wince, and she's consistently put a spotlight on other Filipino artists. We'd happily keep her in the playlist, and we'd love to hear her say a bit more about what she stands for.
