Do we like Ryan Dunn?

Our score: 6 out of 10. No harmful words or company turned up, but the one big stain and a thin record keep this in the middle.

Ryan Dunn was one of the core stunt performers on MTV's Jackass, the show that grew into a film franchise. He died on 20 June 2011 at 34 after his car left the road and burst into flames near West Goshen, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia.

The crash is the story people know. Police said a toxicology report found a blood alcohol reading of 0.196, against a legal limit of 0.08 for drivers. His passenger also died at the scene, which is the part that weighs heaviest.

On the harm test, the search came up clean. I found no sourced anti-LGBTQ+ remarks, no slide into conspiracy theories and no campaigning against any group. Jackass was a show built on pranks and stunts, and that is the extent of what the coverage I saw ties him to.

Nothing new has turned up on him lately, so there's no fresh controversy to report. The coverage I could reach was almost all from the days after his death, so the picture of the man outside that night is thin.

Honest gaps: I couldn't open full articles on his charity work or on the wrongful death lawsuit that reportedly followed, so I'm not putting either on the record. Take this one as a lean yes with an asterisk of caution rather than a firm tick.
