Do we like Till Lindemann?
Our score: 5 out of 10. No harmful words or campaigning turned up and there's some real good, but serious allegations from 2023 are still unresolved in court, which keeps him in the middle.
Till Lindemann is the voice and the lyricist behind Rammstein, and he turned 60 in January 2023. A dpa profile says he grew up with literature, and that his lyrics mix misanthropic and courtly-love imagery. It also notes that songs like “Mein Teil” deal with criminal themes in the first person. That's shock-theatre, and he says he likes letting listeners read it their own way.
The mess started in mid-2023, when the Süddeutsche Zeitung ran a report built on women's affidavits about the singer's after-show world. A Frankfurt court refused his bid for an injunction against that report. The paper's lawyer said the court treated the affidavits as a sufficient basis, while his lawyer argued the women described only consensual sex and said he'd appeal. A Hamburg court took a different line in another case, finding a woman's claim that she'd been spiked was permissible opinion.
On the criminal side, Berlin prosecutors closed their investigation in August 2023 for lack of sufficient suspicion, and he rejects the allegations. That's not the same as a court saying nothing happened, and it's not a conviction either. The honest summary is that the allegations were never tested at trial, and the court rulings that followed mostly dealt with what the media could say.
The cloud hasn't lifted. In July 2025 Mediapart reported allegations that someone from his team approached women at Hellfest in France about joining an after-show party; the festival said it only books acts fans want. In October 2025 about 400 people, per police, protested at the Leipzig Opera Ball over him being a guest. An open letter called it a signal to survivors, and the organisers said they don't exclude anyone.
On the harm test, the searches turned up no campaigning or harmful words aimed at LGBTQ+ people, migrants or the planet. When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, Rammstein condemned it. Nothing flagged in who he's working with either: his Till Fest bill was industrial acts like Ministry. The asterisk is the women-related allegations, which are undecided.
There's real good on the ledger too. In March 2022 he promoted a charity art auction with artist Marc Jung for Ukraine aid, and he cancelled two solo dates in Russia. Separately, a Russian arbitration court ordered him in late 2024 to repay about 638,800 euros over a cancelled 2021 concert in Tver, a civil contract fight where no response from him was reported.
