Do we like Radosław Sikorski?
Our score: 7 out of 10. Nothing harmful turned up and he is on the side of civil partnerships, but the research was thin and he has a sharp tongue.
Sikorski has spent years in a bitter stoush with PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński over the Smolensk air crash. A 2020 report says a court ordered Kaczyński to apologise over remarks he made about Sikorski. It shows a man who hits back through the courts as well as the microphone.
He also has a short fuse in front of the cameras. In November 2024 he walked out of a live TV interview after a question he objected to. That's not a scandal, but it's the same blunt streak that shows up in his feuds with other politicians.
On the harm check, the record that turned up is on the right side. In October 2024 the Tusk government presented a bill to introduce same-sex partnerships in Poland, and Sikorski is a senior minister in that government. I found no harmful words of his own about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants or the planet, though I also couldn't dig as deep as I'd like.
The recent thing is the fight over that very bill. In July 2026 President Nawrocki blocked legislation that would have granted rights to same-sex couples, so the push is stalled for now. Where Sikorski personally comes down is only partly covered in what I could read, so treat this as a lean, not a lock.
Honest gap: I couldn't open most full articles this round, so there's no deep reading of his interviews, his voting record or any fact-checks of his claims. His charity record and personal conduct are also thin here. That is why this is a lean yes and not a gushing one.
