Do we like Park Seo-joon?

Our score: 8 out of 10. No harmful words or company found, plus big, repeated donations; the score stops short of the top because the record is mostly a quiet one and a bit thin on him speaking up for others.

Park Seo-joon (born Park Yong-kyu) has been working non-stop since 2011, and is one of Korea's most bankable leading men. He went from TV romances to the Marvel film The Marvels, and to the lead in Netflix's Gyeongseong Creature. In a January 2026 interview he talked about slowing down, cutting back on social media and sensational news, and wanting to grow as a person by donating and caring for people around him.

The biggest legal story is one where he was the one complaining. A Seoul court awarded him 5 million won after a restaurant owner used a scene from What's Wrong with Secretary Kim in promo banners without permission. His agency said it had asked for the use to stop since 2019, and that the claim was 60 million won, not the 6 billion some media reported. He was the plaintiff, not the one in the dock.

On the harm test, we found nothing. There were no anti-LGBTQ+ comments, no culture-war grievance, no conspiracy rabbit holes, and no campaigning for anyone dodgy. The nearest thing to a stoush is that a March 2025 Paris holiday snap with the caption “What was I doing in Paris? Garo?” got read by some netizens as a nod to the Kim Soo-hyun saga. Neither he nor his agency made a statement, and fans said it just meant a horizontal photo.

Honest gap: the record is thin. Park rarely talks politics or causes, so this is a pass on what's missing as much as on what's there. The record also holds up on the company he keeps, with no sign of him making films or shows with people who push harm.

Nothing fresh has blown up lately. The latest solid news is that he was confirmed in March 2026 for Born Guilty, a Disney+ crime noir set in 1980s Seoul, due in 2027. He plays a mysterious villain named Paengi, so he's not just doing the romantic hero thing.

So would we support him? Yes. He's no activist, but he's a decent bloke with a generous streak, and nothing we found would make a fan wince. We'd just like to hear a bit more from him on the things that matter.
