Do we like Nick Seymour?
Our score: 6 out of 10. Nothing harmful found in what we could read, but too little was verified to score him any higher.
Nick Seymour is the co-founder and bassist of Crowded House, the band that has outlasted most of its era. He's the one you'd spot in the back line of a Finn family gig, more arty than front-and-centre.
That arty streak is real. When Rolling Stone Australia and New Zealand put the band on its 2024 cover, Seymour lent his visual arts skills to the design and painted the band's name across the cover in big red letters.
On the harm test, the searches found no harmful words or acts from him: nothing on LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, vaccines or the planet. That's an absence in a limited search, not a glowing reference, so take it as a lean-yes rather than a certainty.
On the good-person test, no lawsuits, court outcomes or allegations against him turned up either. Most of the pages we tried to open were blocked by a rate limit, so the backstory, the band's 1989 split and any charity work are missing from this column.
So the honest read is this: a long-serving, creative bandmate with a clean-looking record in the little we could verify. If you want a firmer answer, check his own interviews and the band's charity work for yourself.
