Do we like Ms Rachel (Rachel Accurso)?

Our score: 8 out of 10. A record built on kindness to kids, with one contested stance and one clumsy episode, and no harm to any group found in what we could read.

Ms Rachel is the pink-overalled preschool teacher of YouTube, the one parents put on so toddlers will sing along and learn words. Her channel has made her a household name for under-fives and their very tired grown-ups. In September 2026 she was in the news for moving into an album era, and public radio reported she was thrilled about it.

The trouble for her has come from outside the nursery. Since 2024 she has spoken up for children in Gaza and other conflict zones, and in 2025 she said she would keep going even if it risked her career. Supporters see a kids' entertainer who simply does not want children to die. Critics, including pro-Israel groups, say she has taken a side in a war.

Then there was January 2026. Reports said she liked an Instagram comment calling to free America from Jews, and she apologised in a tearful video, saying it was an accident. Some outlets and critics questioned the apology afterwards, while others took her at her word. We could not open every page on this, so treat it as a disputed episode rather than a settled one.

On the harm check, we found no sign of her campaigning against LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants or public health. Her public fights have been for children, immigrants and Palestinian families, and the pushback against her has mostly come from the right and from pro-Israel groups. Abuse aimed at her for those posts does not count against her. Her own call-outs of silent celebrities are judged as her own words, and they are blunt but not hateful.

In September 2026 she told Rolling Stone the criticism doesn't faze her much now, and she keeps pressing famous people to speak out on Gaza. Where you land on that depends on whether you read it as a children's educator standing up for kids or as a family entertainer wading into a bitter political war. Either way, it is her own choice and she has been consistent about it.

The good stuff is the work itself: gentle, evidence-minded songs and lessons for little kids, plus fundraising for children caught in conflicts. We could not open the pages that give the figures, so we are not quoting amounts. That is the honest limit of what we could confirm.
