Do we like Millie Bobby Brown?

Our score: 7 out of 10. A clean record on harm and a decent one on character, held back by thin public statements on LGBTQ+ issues and one unresolved report.

Millie Bobby Brown went from a Netflix breakout as Eleven in Stranger Things to a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador at just 14, the youngest the organisation had ever named. At her appointment she promised to speak out for children whose voices had been silenced for far too long. That's a heavy gig for a kid, and it set the template for her public life.

On the harm test, she comes out clean. A parody account claimed in October 2025 that she'd donated a million dollars with a cruel remark about a cure for LGBTQ+ people, and PinkNews reported there was no evidence she'd said or done any of it. The honest gap is that we didn't find her speaking at length about trans rights, so it's a clean sheet rather than a loud ally.

One contested thing: in 2024 some fans criticised silence over Palestine after an Instagram comment reply from her beauty brand's account. Her representatives told the Daily Dot the replies came from the brand account, not her personal one, and the outlet couldn't confirm she wrote or approved them. Where you land depends on whether you read it as a brand social team's call or as her own non-answer.

The Harbour story is the messiest thing on her file. The Mail on Sunday reported in November 2025, citing an unnamed source, that she had filed a harassment and bullying claim against co-star David Harbour before the final season, which Netflix reportedly looked into. Netflix declined to comment, and the reports were never confirmed. Brown told Deadline she felt safe working with him and said they have a great relationship, though she didn't directly address the report.

On the good stuff, she gave to her community when it counted. In 2020 she and her family donated meals to food banks in New Mexico, and she gave about £15,000 across three hospital charities near her childhood home. UNICEF's page, per the Daily Dot, showed no activity from her since 2020, so the ambassador role has been quiet lately.

Nothing new on her lately that we could pin down with solid sourcing, and the record is thin on her own words about politics. What's there is a young woman who has copped a lot of online abuse, shown no harmful views, and kept her head down. Pass on both, with the unresolved Harbour report and the quiet on big issues keeping her from a top score.
