Do we like Mikkey Dee?

Our score: 6 out of 10. No harmful words or acts turned up and he has a long, steady career, but the record I could verify is thin.

Mikkey Dee is a Swedish drummer who made his name in the heavy metal world. He first drew attention playing alongside the King Diamond crowd in the 1980s, and today he's behind the kit for the Scorpions. The Scorpions' latest studio record with him, Rock Believer, was reviewed warmly for his drumming.

The big chapter in his career was Motörhead, the band he's tagged with every time his name turns up in the metal press. These days outlets still introduce him as the ex-Motörhead drummer, so that stint clearly still defines him to fans. He then moved to the Scorpions, where he plays live and on their recent album.

The recent thing is Lex Legion. He's reunited with most of the classic King Diamond line-up, including guitarists Andy La Rocque and Pete Blakk and bassist Hal Patino. Their self-titled debut came out in June 2026, and the band is already talking about a second record.

On the good-person side, no court outcomes or allegations about him came up in the sources I could check. I also found no charity work I could verify, so there's no good deed to hand him a medal for. A career this long with no scandal is a decent sign, but not a full reference.
