Do we like Lauren Boebert?
Our score: 3 out of 10. Her record of anti-trans remarks outweighs a costly stand on the Epstein files, and what we could read of her conduct is mixed.
The big 2026 story is her falling out with Trump. She signed the Massie-Khanna discharge petition that forced a House vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which then passed 427-1. In May, after she campaigned in Kentucky for Massie, Trump asked on Truth Social whether anyone wanted to run against “Weak Minded Lauren Boebert”. She replied on X that she knew the risks of standing by her friend.
In June, a Fox News reporter asked her about an alleged affair with Massie. The Hindustan Times had reported the allegation, citing a former congressional staffer. Boebert swore at the reporter, called the question “sexist stuff”, and later posted that she has faced false allegations since entering Congress. She said each had been disproven. Whether it was fair or a bad look depends on how you read the question and her reaction.
Now the harm check. Colorado LGBTQ politicians condemned her remarks on trans youth in 2021. In 2022, after the Club Q shooting, she defended her past posts that CPR described as anti-LGBTQ and anti-trans. Where it counts on this page, that's a pattern of her own words on trans people, and no later change of course turned up in what we could read. Her defenders would say she was voicing a conservative position.
The good side is real but narrow. Standing by the Epstein files push and by Massie cost her Trump's goodwill, and it left her the last Republican of that rebellion still in the fight, per the Washington Examiner's headline. That's courage worth noting. It doesn't cancel a record on trans people, and we couldn't verify much other good work.
