Do we like Lalisa Manobal?

Our score: 5 out of 10. Too little could be verified to go higher or lower, so she lands in the middle until the full record is checked.

Lisa is the Thai member of Blackpink, and her big news right now is Viva La Lisa, a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Pollstar reported it as the first residency by a K-pop act, with shows on 13 and 14 November and 27 and 28 November.

The loudest fight in her recent past was the 2025 Met Gala. Online critics said her Louis Vuitton underwear showed the face of Rosa Parks. The artist behind the piece, Henry Taylor, refuted that, as Malay Mail reported. It reads as a messy row over what people thought they saw, not anything she said.

The Star in Malaysia ran a story in August 2026 saying she was criticised, allegedly, for putting a rumoured boyfriend ahead of an anniversary celebration. I couldn't open it, so that's tabloid territory as far as this card goes. It's about her private life, not about harm to anyone.

Lisa is also working out where Blackpink fits. A Kyunghyang Shinmun sports report from September 2026 headlines her saying the group could return if the timing is right, while she focuses on solo work. That's career planning, and it says nothing about how she treats people.

Now the harm check, and I'll be straight: the page-reading tool was blocked, so I only had search snippets. Reports of an old trainee-era video and her response to it turned up, but I couldn't read them properly or date them, so I've left them out of the verdict. Nothing I could read shows her campaigning against LGBTQ+ people, women or the planet. That isn't the same as a clean bill of health.
