Do we like Klaus Meine?
Our score: 7 out of 10. Nothing harmful found and a sensible stance on Ukraine, but we couldn't read much beyond headlines, so we're not scoring higher.
Klaus Meine has fronted Scorpions, Germany's biggest hard rock export, for decades, and the band was still touring Europe and the Middle East in 2026. This one is a long-running working musician rather than a headline magnet, so there's no big blow-up to retell.
The closest thing to a political moment is 'Wind of Change'. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the band changed the lyrics at its shows, and in a November 2025 interview Meine explained the decision and stressed the band is not political. He said Scorpions are 'always a band building bridges' between cultures and countries.
On the good-person side, searches for lawsuits, court cases and accusations came back empty for him. That's a good sign, but it isn't the same as a glowing reference from the people he's worked with. We found no stories about how he treats crew or fans, either way.
The good stuff on record is recognition rather than charity work. He and bandmate Rudolf Schenker accepted the European Culture Award in Bonn in 2021, and we found no charity work to point to. That's honestly the whole list.
So: a veteran rocker with no obvious red flags and a sensible stance on the one big political issue that touched his work. If something does turn up, it'll be news to us.
