Do we like Kevin Sorbo?

Our score: 2 out of 10. Years of his own posts and remarks aimed at trans people and others, with only a thin verified good side.

The latest is that April 2026 Sky News Australia chat. He said he left California seven years ago for the “free state of Florida”, called Ron DeSantis “the best governor” and Gavin Newsom “the worst”. That's partisan politics, not harm in itself. Fox says it asked Newsom and Walz for comment.

Now the harm check. In 2023 he put out a children's book, The Test of Lionhood, that blogger Joe Jervis called anti-LGBTQ+. Sorbo denied it and said critics were chasing clicks. In interviews around it he said the message was “let boys be boys and let girls be girls”, and called letting kids change their sex “insane”. His publisher also releases books by Kirk Cameron and Chaya Raichik.

In 2024, NME reported he demanded that Kamala Harris prove she is Black by saying the n-word, and shared an image that falsely implied a man got off a rape conviction. Lucy Lawless, his old Xena-world colleague, called him out. On a separate occasion in 2022 he said he'd be Oscar-nominated if he played a “radical Islamic pedophile terrorist”. That's a pattern, and it's his own words.

On the good-person side it's messier. In 2019 actress Haley Webb alleged on social media that he made unwanted advances on the 2015 film Single in South Beach and pushed for an unnecessary sex scene. He didn't directly address it, and just tweeted a sarcastic line about believing people. Lawless has separately alleged he made a harsh remark about Nicole Brown Simpson in 1995. Both are allegations, not findings.

The good stuff is thin in what we could verify. Fans clearly turn out for him and he has published a memoir, True Strength, in 2012, but we couldn't open a dated source for his charity work or awards, so we haven't leaned on them. Against a run of posts and remarks aimed at people who are already copping plenty, that isn't enough. We'd skip this one.
