Do we like Jennifer Aniston?

Our score: 8 out of 10. She has criticised politicians over women's reproductive choices and press freedom, and nothing harmful turned up, but the record we could verify is thinner than her fame suggests.

Jennifer Aniston is the Rachel from Friends, and that sitcom still shapes how people see her. She has called the show lightning in a bottle and said it set the bar for the rest of her career. That's a fair summary of how one role turned into three decades of fame.

Her biggest public stoush in recent years was over COVID vaccines. In 2021 she told InStyle she'd dropped some people from her routine who refused vaccination or wouldn't disclose their status. She then answered a fan on Instagram by saying vaccinated people can still pass the virus to those with health conditions. Some people took offence, but she was arguing for public health, not against it.

On the harm test, we found nothing nasty from her. In 2024 she shared a clip of JD Vance calling some politicians childless cat ladies and said she couldn't believe it came from a potential VP. In 2025 she told Elle that unthinkable things were happening after Jimmy Kimmel's suspension, and that viewers hold power through what they pay for. We didn't find a full list of her recent projects and co-stars, so we can't vouch for her whole slate.

The latest noise is gossip. After Lisa Kudrow said she was often called the sixth Friend, reports of a rift appeared, with one unnamed insider speaking for Aniston. Aniston herself isn't quoted in that report. Treat it as tabloid territory until someone puts their name to it.

The good stuff is mostly warm words from people who know her. In 2019 SAG-AFTRA honoured her career and charity work, and Courteney Cox said Aniston shows up for so many others. She has also talked openly about trying IVF, which has helped other women who've been through it feel less alone.

So, would we support her? Yes. She has no record of harmful statements, she has spoken up for health, women and a free press, and the people closest to her say she's kind. The score stops at 8 because we couldn't verify as much of her record as we'd like.
