Do we like Jackie O Henderson?

Our score: 5 out of 10. Her fight over how she was treated counts for something, but the show's ACMA record and a case still undecided keep this in the middle.

Jackie O is one half of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the KIIS breakfast juggernaut she fronted with Kyle Sandilands for years. Her story right now is the messy end of that partnership. The backstory is thin in the pages we could open, so this one's about the break-up and the record of the show.

In February 2026 Sandilands criticised her on air and the show went off the air. She has insisted in a statement through her manager that “I did not quit or resign.” ARN's position, per court reporting, is that her refusal to keep presenting alongside Sandilands entitled it to end her agreement.

Her Federal Court claim, which seeks more than $80 million, is only alleged so far, and nothing has been decided. ARN denies wrongdoing and says messages show she had decided not to return before she lodged her complaint. ARN's barrister showed the court a message from her saying “I just don't want to work with Kyle anymore.”

On the harm check, nothing we could open has her saying anything against LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants or the planet. The trouble is the company and the show. The ACMA ruled in 2025 that a June 2024 episode breached decency rules with graphic sexualised content, though the report doesn't say which host said what. In 2023 it found Sandilands's mpox comments on the show were offensive to gay men; she isn't named as the source of those.

Hence a close call. Co-hosting a show that kept drawing breach findings is not the same as saying the words yourself, so we call it mixed rather than a fail. If she lands another show, we'd look at who she's working with and what she says on air.

On whether she's a good egg, her case is that she raised concerns with management and then lost her job, and she's fighting a giant media company over it. That's a stand with a big price tag, though ARN's version differs and the court will sort out who's right. Not much else good-deed-wise is in the sources we could open, and that's honestly the whole list.
