Do we like Ibai Llanos?

Our score: 7 out of 10. Decent record, charity work and no harmful words found, but a small ad fine and a thin record on his politics keep it off the top.

Ibai is the Spanish streamer who turned a Twitch channel into a mini media empire. His boxing-and-music night, La Velada del Año, started in a Barcelona concert venue in 2021 and by 2025 pulled 9.3 million concurrent viewers on Twitch, a record at the time.

The business side is big. His promoter company reported about 11.7 million euros in revenue and 1.7 million in profit for 2025, mostly from tickets and brand sponsorships, and he holds the EU trademark for the event himself.

The one official stoush on record is small. Spain's competition regulator, the CNMC, opened a file in February that could have meant a massive fine, and Ibai joked back at rumours about it. In July it found several videos on X showed a drink brand while he introduced Velada artists without clear ad labelling, and fined him 710 euros, cut to 568 for paying early.

On the harm check, we searched for anything he said or did about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, climate or health, and found nothing harmful from him. That is an absence of evidence, not a glowing endorsement, so say it plainly: the record is thin. He has said he doesn't want politicians in La Velada, with the words “No me gustaría involucrar en La Velada a políticos”.

So: would we support him? Yes, with a small asterisk of caution on how little we found about his views. He's a sponsor-friendly mega-streamer, not a campaigner, and so far the worst thing on his sheet is a 568 euro ad slip.
