Do we like Hrithik Roshan?
Our score: 8 out of 10. Nothing harmful found in his words or work, a public stand for gay rights, and real pandemic giving; the Kangana feud is murky and keeps him off a 9.
Hrithik is Bollywood royalty, a star of the Hindi film industry for over two decades. The coverage I read focused on the Kangana feud and recent politics, so this card is thinner on his early years than on his recent ones. That is also why I can't give you a proper origin story here.
The big stoush is his long-running feud with fellow actor Kangana Ranaut. It began in 2016 when she referred to a 'silly ex' in an interview, and media widely took her to mean him. He sent a legal notice, she sent one back, and he said that emails at the centre of it came from an account he didn't control. Mumbai Police filed a closure report in December 2023 on his complaint about that account, and the two still tell different stories.
On the harm check, the record is clean. In 2012 he answered a politician's remarks against legalising homosexuality by writing that being gay is not a matter of choice. In December 2025 he praised the film Dhurandhar's storytelling but said he might disagree with its politics, which drew a pile-on from trolls. I found nothing on him and climate or vaccines, and no sign of him making films with people who push harm, but the search was not exhaustive.
The good stuff is practical. In April 2020 he reportedly gave Rs 25 lakh to the actors' association CINTAA to help about 4,000 daily wage artists through the Covid lockdown. The same report mentions earlier money for masks for city workers and over a hundred thousand cooked meals. No court has found against him in anything I read.
So: a decent track record, a public stand for gay people, and a feud where the public record doesn't let anyone call a winner. Would we support him? Yes. Keep an eye on the new producing and directing projects, but nothing here is a red flag.
