Do we like Helene Fischer?

Our score: 6 out of 10. Nothing harmful turned up and she spoke out against the Ukraine war, but we could only read a few pages, so it's a cautious six.

The story we could read in full is her 2022 comeback. In March 2022 she played the SnowpenAir festival in Grindelwald, Switzerland. According to Bild's account, she said she had thought long and hard about whether to perform at all in such difficult times.

On stage she spoke about the war in Ukraine, saying “Ich verabscheue zutiefst, was da gerade vor sich geht”. She didn't name him, but Weekend.at reports she meant the Russian president, and she wore a ribbon in Ukraine's colours. For a star with Russian roots, speaking out like that is not nothing.

On scandals, we found no criminal charges, no convictions and no credible allegations of mistreating people. The one court story is a case she brought herself and lost. The Federal Court of Justice ruled on 21 July 2026 that the magazine coverage did infringe her personality rights, but not seriously enough to justify compensation.

The harm check comes up clean on what we could verify. We found no anti-LGBTQ+ comments, no conspiracy talk and no work with people who push harm. Tabloid headlines about her are mostly fluff, and we couldn't open the German outlets that cover her stance on racism and the far right, so we're leaving that out rather than guess.

The good stuff we can stand behind is small but real. At the Grindelwald show she urged the audience to donate to help Ukraine, according to Weekend.at. German charity auctions have also listed items from her, but we couldn't open those pages, so we're not counting them.

Put together, it's a pass on both tests, with a big caveat about how little we could read. She's a stadium-filling schlager star with nothing nasty on the record we could open and one stance, on Ukraine, that's easy to cheer. That isn't a glowing reference, but it's a comfortable lean yes.
