Do we like Harrison Chad?
Our score: 6 out of 10. A clean search and a long, steady stage career, but too little reporting to push the score higher.
Harrison Chad is a New York actor who started young. By his own account he made his Broadway debut at six, in Peter Pan at the Gershwin Theatre. His stage credits also include Caroline, or Change, Les Misérables and Beauty and the Beast, and he graduated from Brown University in 2014.
Most people know him without knowing it: he was the original voice of Boots the monkey in Dora the Explorer. He also did Little Einsteins and Go, Diego, Go!, voiced Tarzan in Tarzan 2, and turned up on Smash. A 2015 profile has him in the cast of Running Interference at the time.
The usual trouble-spotting came up empty. Searches for court cases, lawsuits, arrests and allegations returned nothing about him, only other people with similar names. That's a clean result, but a clean result from a thin record isn't the same as a deep one.
On the harm check, we found no comments from him about trans people, women, migrants, vaccines or the planet, and no sign he's attached to anyone who pushes that stuff. His credits are musical theatre and kids' TV. No stance either way is on the record, so we can't tell you where he lands on those issues.
On the good stuff, there's no charity work or campaign we could verify. What does come through is a lifelong theatre kid who loves the job. He told Theater in the Now that performing on stage gives him the greatest rush in the world.
So the verdict rests on absence rather than evidence. He's a working actor with a long, quiet career and no red flags we could find. If he ever says something on the issues that matter to this page, we'll revisit.
