Do we like Fernanfloo?
Our score: 6 out of 10. No harmful words, company or court trouble turned up and there's some goodwill, but the record on both tests is thin.
Luis Fernando Flores Alvarado, born in San Salvador in 1993, left school at 18 to chase YouTube. His channel started as comedy sketches and tutorials, then turned to gameplay with a loud, funny running commentary. That's what made him a star.
By 2016 he was reportedly the most followed Spanish-speaking YouTuber, and he picked up a Diamond Play Button. In 2018 he stepped back, moved most of his streaming to Twitch and now uploads to YouTube only about once every six months. He's also moved into investments and a clothing line.
The nearest thing to a fuss is boxing. He beat Luzu on a split decision at La Velada del Año 3 in 2023, and some viewers online called it a robbery. Ahead of this year's rematch-style hype, he told the Plex fight build-up it would be “lamentable” if Plex lost, which is just trash talk. He lost in Seville in July by unanimous decision, and the coverage says he still left the ring as one of the night's most loved figures.
On the good side, he won a career award at the Esland streamer awards in 2022 and sent a thank-you video because he couldn't attend. One profile says he worked with Make-A-Wish in 2017 to give a child a chance to meet him, and has run fundraisers for youth-focused nonprofits. That's thinner than we'd like, and we couldn't confirm it from a second outlet, so treat it as a nice extra.
As for gossip, the October story that he'd died in a crash was a hoax. Fact-checkers at Tunota said he was fine, and no one in his camp had confirmed anything. No court cases, lawsuits or credible accusations turned up. Good news for a bloke with that much reach.
