Do we like Enrique Gil?

Our score: 6 out of 10. Nothing harmful or nasty turned up, but I found very little on what he has said or done about people or the planet, so it stays in the middle.

Enrique Gil is a Filipino leading man who made his name in a hugely popular on-screen and off-screen pairing with Liza Soberano. After a stretch away from the spotlight he has been rebuilding, now as an actor and a producer with his own company, Slingshot Studios.

His latest big swing is A Secret in Prague, a rom-com series that premiered on Netflix and TV5 in April 2026, with him as star and co-producer. Before that came Manila's Finest, a 1960s-set crime drama at the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival, which he called his first project under a multi-film deal with MQuest Ventures.

On the harm check, I searched for anything he has said or done about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, health or the climate, and for the company he keeps. Nothing came up. No rants, no conspiracy posts, no campaigning against anyone's rights, and his recent projects are mainstream Filipino film and TV. That's a clean result, but it's also a quiet one: he just doesn't do culture-war commentary.

On the nice test, his own words in 2026 interviews are gracious. Talking about his ex-partner Soberano, he said “I just wish her all the best” and described a history of respect between them. On love he said he has been learning to trust and to leave things in God's hands, which is a faith that sounds more gentle than preachy.

The gossip side is tabloid territory. Rumours about who he's dating have bounced around Filipino showbiz sites since late 2025, some of them sourced to forum posts, and a June 2026 piece shows no confirmation from him either way. I wouldn't hold any of it against him. I also couldn't open enough reporting to list his charity work, and I found no court record against him.

Nothing new on him lately beyond the Prague series and the interview round that came with it. So: a pleasant, low-drama pass with a fair bit of room for him to show us more. If he ever lends his platform to something that matters, he'd climb the table quickly.
