Do we like Elisa?

Our score: 5 out of 10. The record I could check is thin: nothing harmful turned up, but there is also too little detail to score her any higher.

Elisa is a Japanese singer who made her name through anime theme songs, and she has toured the convention circuit abroad. Anime News Network reported her as a guest at Seattle's Sakura-Con in 2014, and again at an Animax Carnival in the Philippines in 2016.

Her career has had a long pause in it. Anime News Network reported in September 2011 that she was putting her career on hold, and in January 2013 that she would resume making music later that year.

On the harm test, there is nothing to report. I found no campaigning against LGBTQ+ people, no conspiracy talk and no climate or vaccine nonsense from her in the sources I could reach, and nothing about her working repeatedly with people who push that stuff.

Straight up, this card is thinner than most. My tools stopped opening full articles partway through, so I could only work from search results and headlines, not the body copy. I have left out anything I couldn't read properly, including reports about her dealings with her former management.

On the good stuff, the record I could verify is mostly about the work itself: years of anime songs and appearances for fans overseas, including in the Philippines. I found no charity or cause work to point to, which may just mean I missed it.

So the call is a cautious one. Nothing harmful turned up, and nothing about how she treats people, but the evidence is slim. If you love her songs, there's no red flag here, and a fuller check later would be worth doing.
