Do we like Cyprien?

Our score: 6 out of 10. A decent record with nothing harmful found, but he's a quiz champion rather than a public voice, so there isn't much to go on.

Cyprien arrived on TF1's Les 12 Coups de midi on 19 September 2025, a 22-year-old musicology student from Fontenay-sous-Bois who wants to be an orchestra conductor. He brought his own ensemble onto the set and played Schumann, which is not your average quiz-show move.

Then he just kept winning. On 9 April 2026, with more than €838,000 banked, he announced he'd stop after his 212th show, saying “Je veux pouvoir partir sans regret et rester sans regret.” He cited his studies and the mental load of filming, and said the winnings were already big enough. He left on 19 April with a final pot of €861,337.

On the harm test we searched his words on LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants and the climate, and what company he keeps. Nothing came up either way. He's a quiz champion, not a commentator, so that's an honest gap and not a clean bill of health. Nothing harmful found is still a pass.

There was some noise along the way. Journalist Clément Garin relayed unnamed crew members calling him hard to work with, and alleged he got an answer from his coach in the audience during an ad break. Purebreak says nobody confirmed it and no denial from him or TF1 turned up, so call it tabloid territory. Separately, a fan on X spotted recycled answer options, which Allocine reported as a question about the production, not about him.

On the good side, Cyprien said the gifts won through the mystery stars would go to the Secours populaire, though Aleteia reports that as an intention rather than a confirmed donation. Purepeople reports he has been handing prizes on to friends, and the host joked on air that he was giving the cars away. That's the behaviour of someone who doesn't treat the loot as a trophy.

Since leaving he's said music is his real passion, and he's pointing at a conducting career. Nothing new has turned up on him lately. Based on what's out there, he's a thoughtful young man who won big, walked away on his own terms and shared the spoils.
