Do we like Cong TV?

Our score: 6 out of 10. No harmful words or acts turned up, but the record I could verify is thin and one election-time endorsement drew criticism.

Cong TV is Lincoln Cortez Velasquez, a Filipino YouTuber who leads the content crew Team Payaman. Philippine sports and entertainment outlets treat him as a star vlogger, and he is one of the biggest YouTube names in the country. The family's Filipino pop-culture interests make him a fair name to check.

The best-documented recent moment is September 2025. He and his wife Viy Cortez joined a nationwide anti-corruption protest and posted about it, according to the Inquirer. Online critics then pointed to the couple's endorsements of certain politicians at the last election. He limited his comments section after it filled up with jeers.

On the harm test, I searched his name against LGBTQ+ issues, women, jokes and criticism, and found nothing harmful in his own words. The only criticism on file is the endorsement complaint, which is about whom he backed at an election. That is a contested position, not a pattern, and it reads as the sort of thing a decent person can get wrong. I couldn't open much of the reporting, so treat this as a light pass, not a full clearance.

What he said in reply to the backlash counts in his favour. Per the Inquirer, he argued that people who backed the same candidates shouldn't be barred from criticising the country's problems. He also said it is more shameful to stay silent than to speak up. Speaking out knowing the pile-on would follow takes some nerve.

Nothing new on him lately that bears on the question. The most recent item I found is from November 2025, when a PBA motoclub publicly challenged him and Team Payaman to a game, which is friendly sporting banter. I found no 2026 controversy, court case or lawsuit.

On the good stuff, the record I could verify is slim. He has publicly joined an anti-corruption push, and Team Payaman has been reported helping with typhoon relief in the past, but I couldn't open that report to confirm the details. I won't dress up a quick check as a full file.
