Do we like Wix?
Website-building and AI web-creation platform (Wix, Base44, Harmony), based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Our score: 5 out of 10. A useful, mainstream product with no recent regulator fines we found. But the big layoff and a pending investor lawsuit make us neutral, not keen.
Wix is an Israeli website builder that lets small businesses and individuals build sites without coding. Lately it has leaned hard into AI, with products like Harmony and Base44. Avishai Abrahami is the CEO.
2026 has been rough. Shares fell 27% on 13 May after a weak first-quarter report. Then came reports of Wix cutting about 1,000 jobs, roughly 20% of staff, its biggest layoff ever. Abrahami said the company had 'no choice', citing currency pressure and AI.
Investors have filed a securities class action, Yappi v. Wix.com, accusing Wix and three executives of overstating its AI 'vibe coding' products. Those are allegations, not court findings. We found no recent regulator fines.
So we're on the fence. It's a real, widely used product and not a scandal-ridden outfit. But the mass layoffs and the pending lawsuit stop us giving it a high score.
