Do we like Tommy Hilfiger?

Our score: 5 out of 10. Mixed. PVH has a visible sustainability programme, but our searches found little independent proof of results. A big licensing lawsuit and a past outlet-discount case also count against it.

Tommy Hilfiger is now one of two big brands, with Calvin Klein, under PVH Corp. Stefan Larsson took over as PVH CEO in February 2021. Retail Dive covered the appointment at the time. He is known for strength in logistics and speed to market.

On the green side, PVH talks up its 'Forward Fashion' strategy to cut the environmental and social impact of its operations and supply chain. It also hired H&M veteran David Savman to run the global supply chain in 2022. Most of this is PVH's own reporting.

The drama is in the courts. G-III Apparel sued PVH for over $250 million for breach of contract after it was denied extensions on its women's suit licences for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. PVH called the claims baseless and countersued. None of that has been decided in what we saw.

Overall it's a middle-of-the-road score. We found no fine or major scandal, but little independent proof that the green talk is working either. That leaves us at a 5.
