Do we like Take-Two Interactive?
Video game publisher behind Rockstar (GTA), 2K (NBA 2K, Borderlands) and Zynga; based in New York, US.
Our score: 4 out of 10. Makes hugely popular games, but the Rockstar UK firings and the union-busting accusation weigh heavily. We'd hold off until that is resolved.
Take-Two is the New York publisher behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto and 2K's sports games. Strauss Zelnick is the CEO. GTA VI is its biggest bet and has been delayed twice, most recently to 19 November 2026, according to the coverage we found.
The delays didn't make Zelnick back away. He called the extra time a "worthy investment" and said the company supports Rockstar taking more time. Reuters reported shares fell about 8% after the first delay. Fans may like the focus on polish. Shareholders were less happy.
The big drama is people. Rockstar fired 31 UK staff on 30 October 2025. The IWGB union says they were targeted for discussing unionising and calls it union busting. The company says it was gross misconduct "and for no other reason". The union has vowed legal action. We found no ruling.
There's older baggage too. In April 2024 Reuters-sourced coverage said Take-Two would lay off about 600 people, around 5% of staff, and cancel projects. That came after Zelnick had said there were no current plans for layoffs. So we're cautious: great games, shaky worker trust.
