Do we like Prada?
Italian luxury fashion group (Prada, Miu Miu, Versace) making bags, clothes and shoes, based in Milan.
Our score: 5 out of 10. Mixed. A strong, well-run luxury house that cleaned up suppliers, but it's tied to Italy's sweatshop probes and we haven't seen the full outcome.
Prada is the Milan luxury house run by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli. It's now a group with Miu Miu and, since December 2025, Versace, which it bought from Capri Holdings for about €1.25bn.
The family is lining up the next generation. Lorenzo Bertelli is executive chairman of Versace and has been named as the future leader of the group, while Andrea Guerra is group CEO.
The big drama is supply chains. In December 2025 Italian police sought governance documents from 13 fashion firms, Prada among them, over alleged exploitation of workers at subcontractors. Reuters said none was under investigation, though Courthouse News reported something different.
Prada says it has cut ties with over 200 Italian suppliers in five years after finding labour breaches, including dormitories inside factories. That's good for catching it, though it also shows how widespread the problem was. We score it a middling five.
