Do we like Kimberly-Clark?
Makes Kleenex, Huggies, Kotex and Scott tissue and personal-care products; based in Irving, Texas, US.
Our score: 5 out of 10. Everyday products and a steady business, but a long forest-sourcing history and a risky Tylenol deal. We'd hold back a bit.
Kimberly-Clark is the Texas company behind Kleenex, Huggies, Kotex and Scott. Its dividend is steady. In Q1 2026 it reported sales up 2.7% to $4.2B.
The big story is Kenvue, the Tylenol maker. Kimberly-Clark agreed to buy it in a deal worth over $40 billion. Shareholders of both companies approved it in January 2026. Mike Hsu would lead the combined company.
That deal brings risk. Kenvue faces hundreds of private lawsuits alleging it hid supposed links between Tylenol and autism or ADHD. Texas AG Ken Paxton also sued Kenvue and J&J. Hsu says the company is confident in the science.
On the green side, Greenpeace and NRDC ran a long campaign over tissue made from ancient forests. The company later adopted fibre-sourcing standards. A Greenpeace investigation also alleged heavy use of fibre from the Kenogami forest.
A federal judge in Texas gave final approval in 2024 to a settlement of roughly $10M to $17.5M. It settled consumer claims over its 'flushable' wipes. Overall we see a mixed record and a 5 out of 10.
