Do we like Johnson's Baby?
Baby care brand (shampoo, lotion, powder) owned by Kenvue, spun off from J&J; Kenvue is based in New Jersey, US.
Our score: 3 out of 10. Not yet. The talc baby powder cancer claims are still running in the courts, and Kenvue denies them. We'd wait for the court outcomes.
Johnson's Baby is the famous baby-care brand. It began inside Johnson & Johnson. Kenvue, J&J's consumer health arm, was spun off in 2023 and now owns it. J&J says Kenvue kept responsibility for talc claims outside the US and Canada.
The big drama is talc. In October 2025, more than 3,000 people filed a UK High Court claim against J&J and Kenvue UK. They allege Johnson's Baby Powder caused their ovarian cancer or mesothelioma. Kenvue says the powder did not contain asbestos and does not cause cancer.
In April 2024 a Texas jury found J&J and Kenvue liable in a mesothelioma death case. It put 70% of the blame on Kenvue. J&J stopped selling talc baby powder in the US in 2020 and switched to cornstarch.
Ownership is about to change. Kimberly-Clark agreed to buy Kenvue in a deal worth about $48.7 billion. Shareholders on both sides approved it in January 2026. In its latest filing the deal had not closed. Our score is low because the talc cases are unresolved.
