Do we like Fujifilm?
Japanese maker of imaging, healthcare, biotech contract manufacturing, and document products, based in Tokyo.
Our score: 6 out of 10. A big, long-established firm with solid climate credentials and few scandals in what we found, but our search was thin, so we'd back them cautiously.
Fujifilm Holdings is the Tokyo-based parent of the Fujifilm group, best known for cameras and film. It also does healthcare, materials and business products. Teiichi Goto has been President and CEO since June 2021, per Simply Wall St's management listing.
On the green side, the company says CDP put it on its Climate Change A List, and Goto has talked up the recognition. That's a third-party rating, which counts for something, though it isn't the same as proof of low impact.
The drama we found was legal and commercial. Fujifilm's planned $6.1bn Xerox deal drew shareholder suits in New York, and it later won an appeal that dissolved an injunction. Separately, Novavax paid Fujifilm $42m in March 2024 to settle a contract dispute.
Overall it's a respectable, established company with no big scandals in our searches. We'd give it a decent score, held back because the research was limited.
