Do we like DuPont?
Specialty materials and chemicals maker (water, healthcare, construction products), based in Wilmington, Delaware, US
Our score: 4 out of 10. Mixed at best. Big PFAS clean-up payouts weigh on the record, and the company is still reshaping itself. We'd hold back.
DuPont is a huge US chemicals and materials firm. Its recent big move was spinning off its electronics arm as a new company, Qnity, which finished on 1 November 2025. Lori Koch is CEO, and she called it a step toward a more focused company.
DuPont also agreed to sell its Aramids business (Kevlar and Nomex) to Arclin for about $1.8 billion. The deal was expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
The cases keep coming. Ohio settled for $110 million over releases from the Washington Works plant. DuPont also agreed to a $27 million class settlement over drinking water in Hoosick Falls, New York. So we score it low.
