Do we like Dr Pepper?
Soft drink brand owned by Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), which also owns Snapple and 7UP and has a coffee business.
Our score: 5 out of 10. We couldn't check the harm or good side properly. Our searches turned up only deal news, so we call it mixed and wouldn't rush to back it.
Dr Pepper is a brand inside Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), a US drinks and coffee group. KDP also owns brands like Snapple and 7UP, according to the New York Times as quoted by a convenience-industry outlet.
In August 2025 KDP agreed to buy Dutch coffee firm JDE Peet's for about $18 billion in cash. JDE Peet's board unanimously approved it. Closing was expected in the first half of 2026, and we couldn't confirm whether it has happened.
The plan is to merge KDP's coffee arm with JDE Peet's and then spin it off. That would leave a standalone drinks business with Dr Pepper, Snapple and 7UP. CEO Tim Cofer says the aim is a global coffee company.
Our searches turned up nothing on how KDP treats workers, the environment or customers, or on any fines. With so little to go on, we give it a middling 5.
