Do we like Dior?
Luxury fashion, leather goods, perfume and beauty house (Christian Dior Couture), based in Paris, France.
Our score: 4 out of 10. Not one we'd back with our money yet. The Italian supplier exploitation case was a serious lapse, though Dior settled it without a finding of violation and is paying to help victims.
Dior is the Paris fashion house behind the handbags and perfume. It sits inside LVMH, the luxury group run by the Arnault family. Bernard Arnault's daughter Delphine has been chair and CEO of Christian Dior Couture since February 2023, and Jonathan Anderson became creative director in 2025.
The big drama was in Italy. Milan prosecutors found workshops allegedly exploiting workers who made goods for Dior and Armani. A court put Manufactures Dior SRL under court administration. Dior said it was cooperating with the judiciary and was aware of the seriousness of the violations by suppliers.
Italy's competition authority also looked at whether Dior's ethical claims were untruthful. In May 2025 it closed the probe without finding a violation, accepting Dior's commitments, including €2 million over five years to help victims of labour exploitation.
Our score is a mixed 4. The supply-chain failings were real and the price of a luxury bag makes them hard to excuse. The settlement is a step, but we'd want to see proof that suppliers are cleaned up before we back them.
