Do we like DHL?
Global parcel, express and logistics group (Deutsche Post DHL Group), headquartered in Bonn, Germany.
Our score: 6 out of 10. A huge, mostly competent logistics firm with a net-zero plan, but a steady record of settlements over pay, discrimination and price-fixing. We'd back it, cautiously.
DHL is the delivery giant behind the yellow vans and planes. It's run by Tobias Meyer, who has been CEO since 2023. In March 2026 the supervisory board extended his contract to 2031.
On climate, DHL Group says its net-zero-by-2050 goal has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. A July 2026 company release backs 'book & claim' as a way to cut transport emissions. That's the company's own account, so we take it with some salt.
The legal history is messy. DHL agreed to pay $53m to settle a US class action over alleged air freight price-fixing. In 2024 it agreed to pay $8.7m to settle an EEOC race discrimination suit in Illinois, and it denied wrongdoing.
There have been worker-pay cases too, including a $1.5m settlement for airport workers under US wage law and a $1.45m settlement of an unpaid wages suit. Put together, we'd back it with caution: useful and fairly well run, but with a long record of settlements.
