Our score: 5 out of 10. Mixed. Our searches found no CUB-specific scandals, but also no evidence of notable good. The parent's 2025 cyber attack is a security worry.

CUB is one of Australia's best-known brewers. Asahi completed its acquisition of the business in June 2020. Asahi Beverages later combined CUB with Asahi Premium Beverages, and the combined alcohol business trades under the CUB name.

On leadership, long-time CEO Peter Filipovic stepped down after 25 years. Danny Celoni, who came from PepsiCo, replaced him. One report says Celoni is now leaving as three CEO roles are merged into one. We couldn't confirm when, so we can't say who runs CUB today.

The big drama is at the parent. In 2025 a cyber attack on Asahi in Japan halted production and shipments there. Asahi later said personal information of about 1.5 million customers was exposed. The results we got describe the disruption as being in Japan, not at CUB.
