Do we like Calvin Klein?
Global fashion and underwear brand, based in New York; owned and run by PVH Corp.
Our score: 5 out of 10. A big, well-known brand with decent supply-chain programmes. Our searches turned up no big fines, but they also gave us thin recent evidence, so we land in the middle.
Calvin Klein is the fashion brand behind the famous underwear and jeans. Today it belongs to PVH Corp., which also owns Tommy Hilfiger. Stefan Larsson has been PVH's CEO since February 2021, after joining as president in 2019, according to a WWD speaker profile.
On the good side, PVH worked with the International Labour Organization on relief for garment workers during COVID-19. Its 2020 report also said it enrolled 3,078 more women in its supply-chain empowerment programmes. That's the company's own reporting, so we take it with a pinch of salt.
Barron's ranked PVH fifth on its list of the most sustainable US companies in 2022. That's a nice outside tick, though it's a few years old now.
The messier part is Xinjiang. China's Ministry of Commerce opened an 'unreliable entities' investigation into PVH, alleging it targeted Xinjiang suppliers. PVH said it follows all relevant laws. It's a murky one: the company is squeezed between pressure from different governments.
Most recently, a shareholder law firm said it's investigating PVH over possible misleading statements after a June 2026 guidance cut. That's a solicitation, not a finding. We found no fines, so we give it a middle score.
