Do we like Colet?
Our score: 7 out of 10. A clean record on harm and a good run of kind acts, but the record on her personally is thin, with one apologised-for video.
Colet grew up in a musical family in Tagbilaran, Bohol, singing into a hairbrush at home. She secretly auditioned for ABS-CBN's Star Hunt and got in as a trainee, despite being, in her words, an introvert.
The early days were hard. She spoke little Tagalog, so she hung back from the other trainees, and told Vogue Philippines she was on the verge of giving up at times. She stayed because quitting would have wasted her own sacrifices, and she became BINI's main vocalist, lead rapper and lead dancer.
The one real stoush on her record came in May 2025, when a leaked video of a private gathering with friends went viral. It drew backlash over its alleged content, and BINI posted an official apology. They said they offered no excuse and took full accountability. It is a group apology, and there is no court case or formal allegation against her that we found.
On the harm check, honestly, there's nothing to find. We turned up no remarks from her on trans people, women, migrants or the climate, and no pattern of working with people who push harm. That's a pass, but it's also a thin record: she mostly talks about music and challenging yourself.
The recent news is a big one. In April 2026 BINI played Coachella, the first P-pop act to do it, and returned for a second weekend. Senator Bam Aquino filed a Senate resolution commending the group for the debut.
The good stuff is real. In November 2025 she joined bandmate Aiah in Cebu after Typhoon Tino. The Philippine Red Cross thanked them for visiting its field staff and offering support.
