Do we like Cleopatra Stratan?

Our score: 7 out of 10. No harmful words or acts and a bit of real charity work, but little is known beyond a pop career, so we stop short of the top.

Cleopatra Stratan is a Moldovan singer who became a household name in Romania and Moldova as a toddler with the song "Ghiță". Romanian outlet Observator reports her first album went platinum, selling over 150,000 copies in Romania alone, and that the song earned her six world records. She is the daughter of singer Pavel Stratan, who performed with her from the start.

After the childhood fame came a long quiet patch. By 2018 she was back with a single called "Te las cu inima" and a video that had passed four million YouTube views. She had been studying music and theatre in Chișinău, and she told Antena 1's Acces Direct the family wanted to return to Bucharest to work on a music project with her dad.

On the harm check, the record is clean but sparse. We found no statement or campaign of hers about LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants, vaccines or the climate, and no sign she has pushed conspiracy theories or backed anyone who does. Her recent coverage is celebrity-magazine stuff about concerts and family, so this is a pass on absence of evidence, not a ringing endorsement.

On the good-person side, we found no lawsuits, convictions or credible accusations. The most she has copped is tabloid chatter about her looks. Romanian magazines carry plenty of that, and none of it says anything about how she treats people.

The real good we could verify is modest but genuine. In December 2012 she and her father opened a charity gala at the JW Marriott in Bucharest, singing with two children from the Concordia organisation. The night raised 16,850 euro for Concordia's programmes for children. Her ongoing charity work beyond that is not well documented.

So: a likeable homegrown pop star with a long career, no harm on file and a bit of kindness on the record. We can't say much about her values because she hasn't said much publicly about them. If that changes, so will this card.
