Do we like Yuji Itadori?
A character from Jujutsu Kaisen (2018–present)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes. He's warm, brave and stubborn about saving people, and he keeps that heart even when the story gets very dark.
Yuji is an ordinary-looking teen with extraordinary physical gifts. He joins his school's Occult Club mostly to hang out with friends. When a cursed object turns up at school, he swallows it to protect his classmates. That pulls him into the world of Jujutsu sorcerers, where curses are real and deadly.
What makes Yuji likeable is his sincerity. He's cheerful and a bit goofy, but he has a firm moral core. He wants to save people and give them 'a proper death', and he's constantly weighing his own life against others'. He isn't a flawless strategist and often leads with his heart. That's what makes his bond with his teammates feel real.
We score him a 9 because his goodness is tested again and again and he doesn't turn cynical. He's sometimes naive and reckless, which keeps him from a perfect 10. He's still the kind of protagonist you'd happily follow into any fight.
