Do we like Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)?

A character from All Star Comics / Sensation Comics (DC Comics) (1941–present)

Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back her. She's brave, honest and kind, and she tries to talk or reason first. She's also very hard to beat if that doesn't work.

Diana is a princess of the Amazons, a society of warrior women on the hidden island of Themyscira. Different versions tell her origin differently, but the core is the same. A soldier from the outside world, Steve Trevor, arrives on the island. Diana takes him back to the United States and adopts the civilian identity of Diana Prince. As Wonder Woman, she fights injustice with super-strength, a magic lasso that compels truth, indestructible bracelets and a tiara. Her first comics appearance was in 1941, and she has stayed in print ever since.

What makes Diana easy to like is her heart. She was created as a hero who wins through love, truth and compassion as well as force. She treats enemies as people who can change, and she stands up for those who can't defend themselves. She can be naive about the human world and stubborn about her principles, but those are mild faults beside her courage and loyalty.

That's why she scores a 9. She is brave, principled and generous, she is loyal to her friends, and she gets results. She loses a point because she can be rigid and sometimes quick to fight. Different eras have also shown her differently, from the 1960s powerless Diana Prince spy to the modern warrior-diplomat. Through all of them she remains a hero worth following.
