Do we like Winnie-the-Pooh?
A character from Winnie-the-Pooh (1926)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes. He's kind, loyal and endlessly content, and he's always there for his friends. His worst habits are greed for honey and a few harmless muddles.
Pooh is a teddy bear who belongs to a boy named Christopher Robin. He lives in the Forest, the Hundred Acre Wood, under the name Sanders. The stories, first published by A. A. Milne in 1926, follow him and his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit and Owl through small, gentle adventures.
Pooh calls himself a Bear of Very Little Brain, but his simple kindness often works better than clever schemes. He loves honey, songs (his 'hums') and visiting friends, and he treats everyone the same, from nervous Piglet to gloomy Eeyore.
His faults are small: he's greedy, forgetful and easily confused. Because he's so kind and so loyal, we'd happily follow him anywhere, preferably with a pot of honey. That's why he scores a 9.
