Do we like Trunks?
A character from Dragon Ball Z (1993)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's brave, polite and loyal, and he carries a whole broken world on his shoulders without turning cruel.
Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, the genius inventor. He is introduced as a mysterious young swordsman who turns up with a warning for Goku and the Z Fighters. He comes from a future where powerful androids have wrecked the world, and Bulma's time machine is how he got back.
He is earnest, well-mannered and quietly haunted. He grew up in a world with almost no heroes left, so he treats the chance to change things as a duty. He's also a loyal son who looks up to the father he barely knew.
He scores high because his strength never makes him cruel. He's willing to ask for help, to learn from mentors, and to take on the hardest fights himself. The occasional moment of rage or doubt makes him more human without costing him much.
