Do we like The Minions?
A character from Despicable Me (2010)
Our score: 6 out of 10. Chaotic, loyal and very funny. They'd happily help with a heist, but they're better mates than moral guides, so we'd back them with a bit of supervision.
The Minions are small, yellow, pill-shaped creatures in overalls and goggles. They speak a babbling language of their own, and they've always wanted to serve the most despicable master around. They first appear in Despicable Me as henchmen to the supervillain Gru, and they've since starred in their own spin-off films.
They are loyal and devoted to each other, though they're also easily distracted and bad at planning. Unlike many villains, Gru treats them fairly well, and they repay him with real affection. Most of their mischief is pratfalls, banana-related chaos and goofy fighting among themselves, not true malice.
We give them a 6. They do help with crimes, but their hearts are in the right place, they're always on their friends' side, and you can't stay cross with them for long. They'd be fun company, though you wouldn't want them in charge of anything important.
