Do we like Sirius Black?
A character from Harry Potter (1999-2007)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's loyal, brave and fiercely protective of Harry. His recklessness and temper hold him back, but his heart is in the right place.
Sirius Black first appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He is introduced as a feared escaped prisoner, and the wizarding world is hunting him. He also turns out to be tied to Harry's family, as the godfather Harry never knew he had.
Sirius is charming, sharp-tongued and rebellious. He hates the narrow, prejudiced values of the family he grew up in and has chosen his friends over his name. Years of confinement have left him restless and angry, and that makes him impulsive.
We give him an 8. His love for Harry and his loyalty are real, and he is brave when it counts. What costs him points is his temper and his habit of charging in when patience would serve better. He's the kind of person you'd want in your corner, and you'd also be a bit nervous about it.
