Do we like Shin-chan?
A character from Crayon Shin-chan (1990–present)
Our score: 7 out of 10. He's a menace to every adult nearby, but he's loyal, brave and honest. We'd back him, and we'd keep our valuables out of reach.
Shin-chan is a five-year-old boy who lives with his parents Hiroshi and Misae, baby sister Himawari and dog Shiro in Kasukabe, Japan. The series began as Yoshito Usui's manga and became a long-running anime from 1992. Each episode follows everyday kid chaos at home, kindergarten and around town.
He is cheeky, shameless and endlessly distractible. He does silly dances, flashes his bottom, chases pretty older women and says whatever he thinks. His mother's frustrated yelling is a running gag.
Under the nonsense, he is loyal and often brave. He defends his friends at the Futaba Kindergarten, loves his family, and the feature films often show him rising to the occasion. That is why he scores well despite the chaos he causes.
